What is a holiday brush lettering workshop?
A holiday brush lettering workshop is a beginner class where you learn to letter with brush pens and use your new skill on a holiday project you take home the same day. Instead of only filling practice sheets, you finish with something real: this time, a place card with each guest's name on it.
Brush lettering is drawing letters with a brush pen and using pressure to change the thickness of each stroke. Press down for thick downstrokes, lighten up for thin upstrokes, and the letters start to flow. If you want the longer explanation, I wrote about it in my guide to brush lettering classes in Miami.
Hand-letter your Thanksgiving table
This year, give every guest a seat at the table that feels made just for them. In this workshop we start with the fundamentals, from brush pressure to forming graceful letters, then put them to work on fall-inspired place cards you can set on your table.

Who teaches the class?
I'm Andrea Mendez, the designer behind Vintage Unicorn, a small design studio in Coral Gables, Florida. Hand lettering is a core part of my work, from custom lettering and logos to murals and painted signage.
